Reaching Out to Those Closest to Us
Based in Carleton Place, ON, just West of Ottawa on the Eastern Edge of Lanark County, we strive to give back to the community and help them appreciate and learn about the natural wealth that we have to offer. We look forward to providing our local population additional services and options to increase their awareness of just what makes this area so great. We are still in our infancy and are continuing to look for new opportunities to help the community and our interactions grow.
Since 2012 , a portion of the Earth and Space Science classroom at Notre Dame Catholic High School on McKenzie Street has been converted into a natural History Museum, using materials, collected and curated by our founder. Although not open to the Public, it has been open to all members of the Notre Dame School Community during special events, lunches and has been welcoming Notre Dame’s feeder schools for workshops, most notably the local grade 4 science classes. These ongoing activities were the inspiration for the formation of MEESSE outside of a Classroom.
We want to do more. We are in the process of developing programs available during special events. Sadly the first event 2024s, April 8 Eclipse party had to be canceled due to poor weather we look forward to working with you to share our knowledge and passion. Look for us at special event through out the region as we look to grow and develop new partnerships with those in the larger community.

Look to the East as the Sun comes up. It will already be undergoing a partial eclipse, but don’t wait it will not be eclipsed for long. Make sure you have a good view of the Eastern horizon to catch it.

Telescope Rental
Thinking of getting into Astronomy but just wanting to dip your toe in before committing?
Upcoming astronomical event and you want to participate, but don’t have the money to get equipment just for that night?
We have many different styles and types of telescopes to try. Rental prices depend on the equipment borrowed, and how long the equipment will be used for.
Private Star Party or Astronomy related Coaching
Looking for something different for an evening party or event? Given the weather cooperates we can help set you up to give your guests a celestial event. We can provide equipment and expertise to show your party goers a time that is out of this world.
Perhaps you are looking for something more directed to your astronomical needs. Looking to get into astronomy and need a little guidance we can do that too.
Guest Presentations Or Workshop
Have a community event, community group, service group, or youth group looking for engaging workshop or presenters on a topic related to Earth, Space or Environmental Sciences? Reach out, we have you covered.
Public Star Parties
Look for special events this coming summer. Given favorable conditions we endeavor to have Community Star Parties in conjunction with the local High School Astronomy Club. These will be casual affairs where you can ask questions you have been dying to ask, learn a bit about the heavens and try out one of the several telescope brought to the event. The best thing… They are free!
